Hi! Ik ben Denise en ik ben het gezicht achter Purrfect Care. Ik ben 31 jaar en woon in Gouda met mijn vriend Thomas en onze twee katten Coco en Lima.

I studied Animal Sciences at Wageningen University and worked in the agricultural sector for a year and a half afterward, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. While figuring out what I did want, I started cat sitting through the Pawshake platform in 2021. As an overly concerned cat owner myself, I know how important it is to have a reliable cat sitter. So, I enjoy reassuring owners so they can relax on vacation. Soon, I realized that this was exactly what I wanted to do. The interaction with different cats, the variety, and being able to organize my days myself: this was what I wanted to turn into my full-time job. But since cat sitting work is quite seasonal, I decided to combine it with my other passion: cat nutrition.

When I adopted two kittens from the shelter in 2020, I wanted to do everything perfectly for them, including their diet. I quickly realized how challenging that actually is. There are so many options, and there's a lot of conflicting information online about what really constitutes good cat food. I did my best with the information available online and the knowledge from my Animal Sciences studies. But when the opportunity to enroll in the Nutrition Advisor for Dogs and Cats course at Digidog came up in 2021, I didn't hesitate. With this course, I can not only provide the best nutrition for my own cats but also help other cat owners make healthy food choices for their cats. In 2023, I successfully completed the course, and now I can proudly call myself a Nutrition Advisor for cats.
